First Day of Surgery, February 13, 2011

The first day of surgery and we are all anxious that things go well. The procedures will range from tooth extractions to insertion of ear tubes to cleft lip repair, all less complicated than cleft palate repair. Today the team gets in the flow of things, getting used to the setting and adjusting to working as a new team. Tomorrow will begin the more delicate cleft palate procedures.

Nervous parents, confused and curious children at the beginning and through the surgery. After the operation, dazed children and parents who are still concerned, but exceedingly happy to see their child's face without the disfiguring cleft lip.
