Blackout Toothday

What is Blackout Toothday?  We were warned on Clinic Day that there was to be a planned power outage in order to bring on line a new power substation.  So Tuesday became known as Blackout Tuesday.  Nurse Jody Meyer built the schedule with that in mind.  She purposely planned no complicated palate surgeries today and as many procedures with local anesthetic as possible.  Somehow it has resulted in lots of tooth extraction procedures and Blackout Tuesday morphed into Blackout Toothday.  Maybe we are punchy, but we thought it was funny.

The hospital has an efficient back-up generator that has been running smoothly all day long so maybe we need not have worried.  However, safety is our greatest concern and we don't ever want to take any chances.
